Becoming My Stronger Me
"Becoming My Stronger Me” is a podcast designed to help you become stronger in mind, body, and heart.
Season 1 - Like 47 million other Americans, I voluntarily left my successful full-time career to pursue, well, whatever was next. We’ll call this “my great resignation.” As you get to know me, you’ll see that I’m a type-A planner. So to make a life choice without some grand detailed master plan on the other side was unheard of. But now, 2 years later, it was the best decision of my life. Join me as I share my story, questions I asked myself (or wish I had), missteps I made (and how to avoid them), the effect this had on me and everyone around me, and other musings that helped me to become my stronger me.
Season 2 - The Mental Performance Series is dedicated to exploring the intricate relationship between mental performance, sports excellence, leadership, and personal growth. We’ll dive deep into the psychology behind peak performance in athletics, leadership roles, and everyday life. Whether you're an athlete looking to optimize your mental game on the field, a leader seeking to inspire and motivate your team, or an individual striving for personal growth and success, this series provides practical tips, actionable strategies, and inspiring stories to help you unlock your full potential and become your stronger you.

Conversation with Matt Clark
Matt Clark is a former professional soccer player, seasoned coach, and dedicated mentor whose journey spans the fields of athletics, business, and community service.
Matt’s story begins at Illinois State University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration and Finance while playing NCAA Division I soccer. After graduation, he pursued a professional soccer career, playing in Milwaukee, Chicago, Germany, and Montgomery. Along the way, he was mentored by some of the best in the game, including Dan Gaspar and Tony DiCicco, which eventually inspired him to transition into coaching.
As a collegiate coach, Matt built programs at Trinity College, Huntingdon College, Park University, Auburn University-Montgomery (where he founded the women’s program), the University of Southern Mississippi, and Elon University. His success in coaching was matched only by his commitment to his players’ growth, both on and off the field.
When Matt’s daughter Grace was born, he made a bold decision to prioritize family and shifted into a career in insurance and consulting. From running his own insurance business to serving as a Market Growth Manager for UnitedHealthcare, Matt thrived in roles that allowed him to build relationships, solve problems, and empower others.
Now retired from corporate life, Matt has returned to his roots in soccer. He is an assistant coach at Georgia Gwinnett College, co-runs a soccer camp and tour business, and partners with a goalkeeping equipment company. Matt also continues to serve his local community through insurance and advocacy for healthy living.
Join us as Matt shares his inspiring journey, the lessons he’s learned from leadership and mentorship, and how his dedication to serving others has shaped every chapter of his life.
